Whether you’re creating a light summer throw or a blanket to keep you warm in the winter, Fiddlesticks yarn has a range of blends to suit any knitting project. Lola Lovegrove has been a long-time supplier of Fiddlesticks wool, so we’ve decided to walk you through the steps to making a stunning Fiddlesticks knitting yarn throw.

Which Tools And Materials Will You Need?

Before you get started you’ll need to make sure you have the following items;
Circular knitting needles, 8 or 11mm

Super bulky or super chunky yarn, like this Superb Big Fiddlesticks wool, in 4 different colours which you’ve labelled A-D.

A stitch marker

Considerations to Make Before You Start

It can be tempting just to jump right in and start knitting as soon as you have all your materials together. However, try to consider the following before starting your knitting project.

Plan out your colours. For this project, we’ll be using two primary colours and two accenting colours. Make sure they all complement each other and that you have a neutral grey or ivory in there to set off the brighter hues.
How are you going to finish your project? You can either use a slip stitch for every first and last stitch of your throw, or you could finish with a crochet border. How you do the edges is entirely up to you and your style preferences.
How tight do your stitches need to be? You’re knitting a throw, so you don’t need your stitches to be as tight as you may need on clothing. Make your stitches tight enough that they look even, but loose enough that you can fit them over the needles with ease.
